Banyan Tree Lombok is a luxury beach resort situated on a rocky promontory overlooking expansive sandy beaches, with panoramic views of the sun setting behind Bali’s Mount Agung.
The resort’s unique elevated site and impressive beachfront location served as inspiration for the open-style villas, which are designed to minimize visual and physical buffers to the environment.
The sensitive topography also presented a unique challenge that allowed us to explore site-specific massing solutions for the public areas and guestrooms.
The overall design blends tropical Lombok architecture and contemporary influences, combining grounded earthen walls and lightweight timber structure with a warm and natural material palette that harmonizes with the natural surroundings.
